MSC perform DSOTM Live at FIRE/LAND: Knowing the Territory

A project of Myrtle Tree Arts and co-hosted by American River Conservancythis unique event will happen on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM at Wakamatsu Farm, Placerville, CA. The event features a music and media-infused performance called FIRE/LAND: Knowing the Territory.

Doors open at 4:00 for guest arrival. The event kicks off with a Community Resilience Forum from 4:30 - 7:00 PM featuring local experts and representatives who will share and lead participatory conversations on community issues related to wildfire, emergency preparedness, land stewardship, cultural preservation, and climate change.

As the sun descends, the evening will feature a live musical and dramatic performance from 8:00 - 10:00 PM, conceived and created by Myrtle Tree Arts, a Gold Country arts collaborative featuring composers, musicians, singers, poets, and artists. The show opens with the popular Main Street Collective performing their Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary Tribute.

At darkness, the ensemble will perform the FIRE/LAND work featuring original music, dramatic performance, and video projections as a creative exploration of wildfire, ecological change, healing and resilience, and as a commemoration of the 2021 Caldor Fire, 2022 Mosquito Fire, and other recent and historical impacts in our region.

This intellectual and creative experience strives to spark your inspiration and share a call to action in support of community resilience and public awareness.

Speaker FORUM begins at 4:30 and concludes by 7:00.

The live PERFORMANCE begins at 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Tickets are $10 per adult.  Suggested donation is $10 for parking.

A no-host bar will offer local wines and beer.  The food service will be onsite from 5:00 until 8:00.  Picnicking is welcome.
